🔗 Combinations, Clashes & Punishments — When Stems and Branches Interact
The Chemistry of Your Chart
The symbols in your BaZi chart don’t sit still. They talk to each other. Some conversations are sweet (combinations), some are explosive (clashes), some are quiet injuries (harms). These interactions add drama and depth.
🤝 Heavenly Stem Combinations
The 10 Stems pair up into five couples, instantly transforming into a new element:
- Jia + Ji → Earth
- Yi + Geng → Metal
- Bing + Xin → Water
- Ding + Ren → Wood
- Wu + Gui → Fire
If your Day Master is Jia, and a Ji appears in the luck cycle, your personality softens, or money and relationships shift. This is alchemy in real time.
💥 Earthly Branch Clashes (Six Clashes)
Six pairs of Branches directly ram into each other. Think car crash energy:
- Zi (Rat) vs Wu (Horse)
- Chou (Ox) vs Wei (Goat)
- Yin (Tiger) vs Shen (Monkey)
- Mao (Rabbit) vs You (Rooster)
- Chen (Dragon) vs Xu (Dog)
- Si (Snake) vs Hai (Pig)
Clashes bring movement, disruption, breakups — but also breakthroughs. A static life sometimes needs a good clash to evolve.
💕 Six Harmonies of Branches
These are magnetic unions, often romantic or partnership-forming:
- Zi + Chou → Earth
- Yin + Hai → Wood
- Mao + Xu → Fire
- Chen + You → Metal
- Si + Shen → Water
- Wu + Wei → Fire/Sun
A Day Branch matching with someone’s Year Branch can explain that instant, unexplainable connection.
⚡ Hidden Harms and Punishments
Some Branch pairs cause silent mischief — misunderstandings, nagging ailments, emotional unease. They don’t shout; they whisper and erode.
Example: Mao and Chen harm each other. Rabbit thinks one way, Dragon another. No big explosion, just endless friction.
These interactions are the final polish on chart reading. They turn black-and-white balance into a 3D movie.
